Luxury Vinyl Flooring
Luxury Vinyl Flooring
When remodeling your home, you want to be sure you really like a flooring option before committing to it. It might be there for the rest of your time in the house, and it’s one of the first things people notice in your house. For a wide variety of looks at highly affordable prices, consider Luxury Vinyl flooring
Tile vs. Plank
Luxury Vinyl comes in two types: tile (LVT) and plank (LVP). Plank vinyl mimics wood, while tile vinyl looks like tile. In fact, tile vinyl can look like stone, plastic, ceramic or even a cobblestone pattern, and plank vinyl can mimic almost every type of hardwood. The wide variety is part of what makes luxury vinyl so popular. You can have a great look for much less than the cost of hardwood or stone tiles.
LVT uses advanced photographic technology to mimic the more expensive options. It has four layers: a heavy-duty vinyl base, a vinyl color layer, a photographic film layer, and a urethane or aluminum oxide top layer. The top layer is 20-40 mm thick and the urethane under it makes your flooring look brand new even after a decade or more.
Luxury vinyl flooring is more water resistant than hardwood, and generally lasts longer. It also meets EPA standards for “green building,” and can earn you LEED points for reducing environmental footprint.
No mess, no fuss
This product is also super low maintenance: it is scuff and stain resistant, and only needs a quick sweep and occasional mop to keep it clean. Because of the coating, there is no need to worry about child or pet messes. Most manufacturers of luxury vinyl also offer warranties that can last up to 25 years, which is much more than you will get with most other flooring options.
